What is a remanufactured toner cartridge
- 03 Sep, 2021
Some examples of when a compatible cartridge is helpful include with coffee machines and printers. With your printer, you can choose to use the brand-name toner cartridge or an alternative that's cheaper but works just as well.
A more common example would be with coffee makers and different capsule ranges such as Starbucks capsules vs generic ones in store.
What is a remanufactured toner cartridge
The meaning of refurbished, recycled or remanufactured cartridges is the same. They are compatible with manufacturers' printers just like new cartridges but have been reconditioned and reused just as their name suggests!
The term "Remanufactured" is used because parts such as the print head, inkjet chips or laser drums are replaced in some cases. Unlike second-hand market where products are simply cleaned for reuse, remanufacturing involves replacing these components within a product which differs from traditional recycling methods of taking apart the item to salvage its individual components before discarding them entirely.
The course of regeneration of toners and inks
A cartridge can be refilled several times, just like toner. However, it is important to use high-quality ink that will have a similar quality as original printer cartridges or toners. In order for the finished prints to look good and be comparable with those made by originals, key steps include cleaning print heads of any residue from powder or leftover inks using specialized solutions suitable for particular printers. Under the influence of exploitation, some elements may be damaged. This is when new mechanical parts are replaced and inks or toners repaired with replacement components such as chips that count pages printed and magnetic cotter pins, seals springs and shafts checked out too. In order to regenerate a laser toner, it is important that the entire regeneration kit and appropriate room conditions are met. Supplies needed include screwdrivers, tweezers and feeler gauges (to properly position slats). To get rid of the dust that has yet to settle, a vacuum cleaner with an excellent double filtering system is needed. Some companies invest in professional extractors for this purpose as well because it can remove both large and small particles from previous coloring materials. In the case of toners, a separate powder for sprinkling OPC photosensitive drums is also necessary. This will help avoid rubbing between the drum and scrubber to keep your printer in good working order. One must note that while carrying out of this technological process, it is important to keep the room ventilated and well lit. The person performing the service should also wear a dust mask and protective clothing kits in order to avoid inhalation or absorption into their skin.
Advantages of remanufactured cartridges
Genuine inks and toners compatible with printers from leading brands of electronic equipment tend to be quite expensive. Regeneration is definitely cheaper: it's estimated that reusing the same component can save up 70-90% of the cost when compared to purchasing a new one! The more significant discrepancy in cost of regeneration compared to new toner or ink is only apparent when examining individual models. For most people, regeneration is 50% cheaper than buying a new cartridge and sometimes refilled cartridges are even better value for money - because some manufacturers put less powder inside the cartridge that could fit! By using regenerated cartridges, we also help to protect the environment by reusing some of our toner and ink. We reuse parts that can be recycled so we aren’t throwing away empty cartridges every time they run out!
